Santa Tere

Santa Tere Espacio emerges from the idea of creating architecture through renewal, reuse, repair, and repurposing; in this case, transforming a self-built and abandoned building in the San Antonio neighborhood of San Miguel de Allende

Considering the essence of the neighborhood, OCD Oficina de Diseño Colaborativo, TBD Atelier, and Maye Colab joined forces with a shared vision to propose a project that engages in dialogue with the site’s legacy. This is how Santa Tere Espacio was born: an architectural restoration proposal, a space for creativity, and a hub for cultural promotion.

The original colors can be found in the architecture, finishes, and through the integration of geometric shapes. Notable elements include yellow, red, and pink walls, a circular blue doorknob, and triangular domes that respond to the geometry of the site.

The idea of reclaiming the essence of the site is also reflected in the project's color palette, designed based on the hues found in the original construction, with a contrasting color— the blue of the ironwork.
